There's a lot of variables here, but I might try updating the plugin to the latest version, trying VST3 vs VST2 if one is available and see if they behave the same. It could have something to do with your system as well. So, if its crashing I would tend to start looking at other variables. Reaper probably has the most forgiving plugin handling out of all of them, too. My point isn't bragging or rubbing it in your face, its more about that I can vouch for and verify its stability on my system. Reaper in general has literally never crashed for me in years with very large and intensive sessions, so it's definitely not Reaper itself, I can assure you of that. I'm running a session right now in reaper with over 200 FX plugins and it has never crashed once on me. 9 times out of 10 your DAW crashing is related to 3rd party plugins or something on your system. This is most likely something to do with the plugin.
